DESCRIPTION

Frightened, anxious, hyperactive and stressed animals can be calmed quickly using this easy to give liquid. Dropped into the mouth, given on food or even just a few drops sprinkled on a pet’s bedding can result in a more amenable pet, so visits to the vet, travelling or moving house instantly become less stressful situations. Cats particularly love the smell of Valerian Compound, so administration really couldn’t be simpler.

How does Valerian Compound work?

Valerian helps to support the natural relaxant pathways within the nervous system, without affecting muscles. It doesn’t make pets dopey or sleepy – in fact it is widely used for agility and show dogs when they need to be alert and focussed, but calm. The concentrated herbal extracts used in this liquid ensure that within just 30 minutes a noticeable change in behaviour occurs without causing drowsiness and the effects are quite short lived. In situations that have a longer duration then we recommend also giving Scullcap and Valerian Tablets.

When faced with unexpected events like thunderstorms, Valerian Compound has a fast action and it can also be used in conjunction with Scullcap and Valerian Tablets in especially fearful situations and for anxious animals.

What can Valerian Compound be used for?

Phobias and nervous disorders can be really hard to deal with – both for pets and from their owners’ perspectives. Widely used as a treatment for noise phobias and fears associated with fireworks, thunder and gunfire, as well as for general excitability and hyperactivity, this herbal medicine is one of our best sellers. Popular for use in travel-related anxiety and also for territorial urine spraying in cats. Buy your supply of Scullcap and Valerian Tablets well in advance of fireworks night (there’s often huge demand around this time.)

Many situations can be worrying for our pets causing fear and anxiety. Valerian Compound can be used for:

  • fireworks
  • thunderstorms
  • travelling
  • showing
  • going into kennels
  • visiting the vets.

Valerian Compound acts quickly, helping you and your pet get through these events stress-free. It can also be used to restore calm in hyperactive pets.

Top-Tip: Try putting a few drops on a cloth on your pet’s bed to help them relax, cats especially love this.

Will it sedate my dog?

They are not sedatives, in fact these are widely used for performance dogs such as agility and show dogs when they need to be alert and focussed. The herbs are nervines, that means they help to naturally relax the nervous system which reduces anxiety yet does not sedate muscles.

Can I use the tablets and liquid together?

Scullcap & Valerian Tablets used daily provide better coverage and are ideal to start using in the lead up to Fireworks Night so they are already nice and relaxed before the scary noises start. Valerian Compound is quicker-acting and is perfect to use orally as a "top-up" and for unpredicted events such as a neighbours having a fireworks display or a thunder storm. It is ideal to put a few drops on a cloth on their bed to help them relax, cats love this especially.

When do I need to start giving the products?

The more severe the phobia, the earlier you should start, up to a month in some cases. For moderate phobias, start around 10 days before the predicted worst night. However, even if you only start the day or so before your dog will still benefit.
